THE PURPLE PILEUS is the fourth book by H. G. Wells published by Plum Park Press.
The PPP miniature edition of The Purple Pileus includes six short stories selected from an 1897 volume, all with a zoological theme: "The Purple Pileus", "Aepyornis Island", "The Empire of the Ants", "The Flowering of a Strange Orchid", "The Moth", and "The Valley of the Spiders".
This book shares the same format with the other books in the series. It is bound in purple buckram, and carries a dust jacket in the same color, with a modern design suggesting the pileus of the title.
The Purple Pileus consists of 240 pages, with overall dimensions of 65 x 65 mm (2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches). The edition consists of 20 copies, priced at $45 each, plus $7 for shipping and handling.
