Ruth Stiles Gannett was a well know writer of children's book, most famously MY FATHER'S DRAGON, which became the first in a series. The original book was copiously illustrated by Ruth Christian Gannett, the author's stepmother, and Plum Park Press is happy to offer a miniature version of the original book, complete with all the illustrations.
The book was originally published in 1948, and was a runner-up for the Newberry Award. It has been perennially popular, and has been translated into 14 languages. It tells the story of the narrator's father, who ran away from home as a boy to Wild Island, where after numerous adventures involving many talkative animals he found and rescued a captive dragon.
The bookprinted on smooth, heavy paper. The binding reproduces the original printed cover of the 1948 edition.
The book consists of 120 pages, with overall dimensions of 76 x 65 x 11 mm (3 x 2-9/16 x 7/16 inches). The edition is limited to 20 copies, priced at $40 each plus $5 for shipping and handling.
