In 1914 "The Studio" published The Art of the Book. Edited by Charles Holme, the book was subtitled "A review of recent European and American work in typography, page decoration, & binding", and it consisted of eight articles by experts on these subjects. On of these articles was by the acclaimed British bookbinder Douglas Cockerell, and it now appears as a Plum Park Press miniature edition entitled Fine Bookbinding in England. The article was relatively brief, but it included 75 plates, some in color, and all of them are included in this miniature edition.

Douglas Cockerell was one of Britain's finest bookbinders at the beginning of the twentieth century. He was the author of Bookbinding, and the Care of Books, also available in a Plum Park Press miniature edition.

The book is bound in dark green buckram with an image of one of the bindings covered in the book on both front and back. It consists of 200 pages,  with overall dimensions of 75 x 72 mm (2-15/16 x 2-7/8 inches). The edition consists of 20 copies, priced at $50 each, plus $5 for shipping and handling.
