This miniature edition of TEXTILES is drawn from Textiles and Clothing, one of twelve volumes forming a home-study course in "the new profession of home-making and art of right living". The book was written by Kate Heinz Watson, an instructor in domestic art at the Lewis Institute, and later a lecturer at the University of Chicago.
Textiles has chapters on fibers, modern methods of spinning and weaving, weaves, finishing, and fabrics, including the names of various types of fabric. The extensive text includes many line drawings and photographs.
The book is printed in black and purple, and bound in a red/blue shot fabric, with purple endpapers. Textiles consists of 200 pages, with overall dimensions of 75 x 62 x 14 mm (3 x 2-7/16 x 9/16 inches). The edition is limited to 20 copies, price $45 each plus $5 for shipping and handling.
