In 1757 John Baskerville decided to set an example for the printers of England. He felt that there work was generally inadequate, and that it could be done much better. He demonstrated this by printing an edition of Virgil's work, printed with a new typeface that he designed, with a new kind of ink, and on wove paper instead of the usual laid paper. The resulting book stunned the book world when it was published, and to this day the "Baskerville Virgil" is regarded as a masterpiece.

Plum Park Press is proud to offer a miniature version of this book: Virgil's Georgics printed using his typeface, and with the same page layout on the same type of paper. The miniature is also an English translation rather than the original Latin.
The miniature edition also uses a similar binding to the original: a dark red crushed leatherette with gold rulings. The endpapers are marbled appropriately.
Georgics consists of 140 pages, and has overall dimensions of 75 x 66 x13 mm (3 x 2-5/8 x 1/2 inches). The edition will be limited to 20 copies, priced at $50 each plus $5 for shipping and handling.
