Plum Park Press
British Butteflies was originally published in 1894 as part of a much larger book by William Furneaux. As a miniature it still runs to 240 pages of text and black-and-white illustrations. A further 73 color illustrations of butterflies and 12 of caterpillars and chrysalises are presented on eight throw-out plates, making it easy to refer to them while reading through the text. Each plate is 100 x 70 mm (4 x 2-7/8 inches), and is printed on heavy glossy paper for the best possible resolution. Captions for the illustration appear on the aprons for convenient reference.
The PPP edition is bound in white cloth printed with one large butterfly image across the spine and both covers. (This is actually an American Monarch butterfly, whose photograph was chosen in recognition of the fact that Monarchs habitually rest in large numbers at Plum Park during their annual migration.)  British Butterlies has overall dimensions of 76 x 60 x 22 mm (3 x 2-3/8 x 7/8 inches). The edition consists of 20 copies priced at $65 each, plus $5 shipping and handling.
